Main Act Studio · Our story
One musician.
One machine. One school.
Main Act started with a problem John Brunsfeld knew personally: serious music study meant separate teachers, separate apps, and no shared record of progress. He could not afford that faculty, so he built it with AI.
AI helps write and build Main Act. John owns release decisions and corrections; neither is a substitute for the qualified people responsible for high-stakes work.

01 · Origin
The music school I wanted did not exist.
Learning voice, songwriting, repertoire, mixing, live sound, and lighting usually means finding different teachers and starting over in every subject. I wanted one place that remembered the work and connected the skills.
01
Studio Mix
Part of one practice history, alongside the other schools in Main Act Studio.
02
Live Sound
Part of one practice history, alongside the other schools in Main Act Studio.
03
Lighting
Part of one practice history, alongside the other schools in Main Act Studio.
So I made the school I wanted to attend. Main Act remembers what you worked on, gives you a short session for today, and uses the result to plan what comes next.
02 · The two builders
John owns the standard. AI expands the work.
John owns the problem, the release call, and the correction. AI makes more drafts, alternatives, edge cases, and checks possible; neither role turns internal review into independent expert endorsement.
John decides
Which musician problems Main Act should solve
What each lesson, drill, and feature should accomplish
What needs expert review or a clear safety warning
What gets revised, released, or removed
AI helps build
Draft lessons, exercises, interfaces, and code
Offer alternatives and find weak assumptions
Run repetitive checks across a large curriculum
Revise quickly after testing exposes a problem
03 · The work
An idea is only useful when it survives the product.
A lesson has to make sense in context. A drill has to run. A result has to help with the next practice session. We test the finished experience, not just the draft.
Choose the problem
Start with something a musician needs to learn, practise, or remember.
Build
Use AI to draft lessons, exercises, interfaces, tests, and alternatives.
Try it
Use the finished feature as a learner would, including the awkward and broken paths.
Revise or release
Cut anything vague, misleading, unsafe, or less useful than the thing it replaces.
What review does not mean
This is an internal product loop, not independent conservatory, clinical, legal, engineering, or standards endorsement. High-stakes decisions still belong with qualified professionals and the rules that govern the real situation.
04 · The schools
The best explanation of Main Act Studio is the work itself.
Explore a school or try a free tool. You should be able to understand what to do and get something useful without taking this story on faith.
05 · Corrections
If something is wrong, tell us.
Main Act can contain a bad explanation, an inaccurate claim, or a feature that does not work as described. The Support route helps you include the page and problem, and still exposes a copyable address if a mail app is unavailable.
Built by two
One musician, one machine, six disciplines, and a seat for anyone who wants to get better.
